If you want to keep the skin free from those tough mascara stains or a waterproof foundation, you must look for a makeup remover. Likewise, exfoliating the skin once a week can ensure that the skin is free from makeup residues, dirt, and dead skin cells, which can avoid many skin problems.  

  1. We aren't following skincare in the right order.

Skincare routine compromises of many products, and we may indeed get confused and often go wrong in following the correct sequence. If you need to achieve the best results from your skincare routine, following the skincare products in the correct order is necessary. Are you confused about the right order? Here it is -Cleanser, Toner, Serum, and Moisturizer, and at the end comes the sunscreen. 

  1. Not using safe and quality ingredients:

We all know how important it is to check the ingredients list before deciding on a product to include in skincare. Still, it is often missed by many, and they end up using products containing toxic ingredients that can harm the skin than good. Moreover, some of them can even affect your overall health. So, to keep your skin protected, make sure the skincare products are free from the ingredients like Parabens, Triclosan, artificial fragrances, etc.

Another common mistake is not applying sunscreen regularly or using them only during summers. If you use sunscreen regularly, many skin problems like skin tanning, premature aging, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation can be avoided. Additionally, it’s a must to protect the skin from UV rays to keep them safe from various skin diseases. Be it summers or winters, make a wise decision that you’ll never step out of the house without applying sunscreen. Similarly, look for products that offer at least SPF 30. 

  1. We aren’t using the apt amount of product:

This is quite a common mistake, either using too much or little. Most times, people always use excess amounts on the skin. Using an excess amount of beauty care products on the skin doesn’t get you more results; instead, it can also lead to skin problems. While using the skincare products, the apt way is to follow the “less is more” rule. To be more precise, your skin requires a “pea-sized” amount of the product to stay nourished and healthy.

We take a lot of time and effort to find the products to follow the skincare regimen. We spend much money buying serums and moisturizers to treat the skin concerns or keep the skin naturally plump. But, people always expect instant results when they try a new product. No matter how good the product is, it takes time for the product to show results; for some, it can be seen in a week or two, but for most people, it takes at least three months for the product to make a difference on the skin. So, being consistent and persistent is essential if you want to yield the best out of your skincare routine.  

  1. Frequently touching the skin.

Though it’s known to all, we often forget and repeat the same mistake. Touching the skin without washing the hands or frequently touching the skin can cause germs and bacteria to reach your facial skin, which in turn cause various skin problems and infections. 

  1. You are probably overdoing:

Keeping the skin clean provides you healthy and problem-free skin; but washing the face frequently doesn’t help your skin; instead, it can harm them. The same is the case while exfoliating; doing too much physical or chemical exfoliation can damage the skin. So, to be on the safer side, exfoliate the skin once or twice a week, according to your skin type.  

  1. You aren’t moisturizing properly.

We get a plethora of moisturizers for different skin types, but are you sure that you are using them correctly? The apt time to use a moisturizer on your skin is when it is damp; by doing this, the product absorbs better, and the skin does not dry out. 

  1. Not using skincare products based on skin type.

As mentioned, we have access to a myriad of skincare products. But, they aren’t meant for all skin types. If you want to make your skincare effective, the first tip is to find products that are specially crafted for your skin type.
